Ghost story

There's a ghost at my window.
He tells me things.
He tells me when the rain is going to stop;
it's raining you know.
He tells me when the sun will come out again
and everything will be good.
Soon.
Soon he said.

He tells me who's knocking at my door
and who is calling me;
There's someone calling me, you know.
He tells me who's trying to kill me.
I know who he is.
Now I know.

There's a ghost in my bedroom.
He shows me things.
He shows me a magic-door,
he shows me another place.
He shows me the people and how they are good - oh, so good.
He shows me the way there.
It's not really that far.
Close.
Very close.

He shows me a light, and a man behind it.
The man has only one eye.
He's watching me with it.
He shows me other things too.
You would like them.
You would.

The dark man at the door is going to knock very soon.
I'm not scared.
I'm not.

I'm waiting for him - I'm ready.
The rain has almost stopped now
and then the sun will shine again and all will be good.
I'm not scared of the man at the door, of his wings and teeth.
I'm not scared that he wants my blood.
But I'm ready for him.
I'm ready.

The man with the one eye sees me,
the light becoming bright at the magic-door.
The people are calling me to come inside.
They want me to go with them.
I don't know why.
But it is oh, so good.

Now I can see the dark man.
The light is gone and he is knocking.
I see him, the ghost shows him to me, he warns me.
The dark man is going to open the door in a moment,
then he will want my blood.
I'm not scared.
I'm not.

The magic-door is still there.
The ghost tells me I should go through it.
He tells me I should run.
He shows me the light again and says I should go through it.
It's so very bright.
It is oh, so good.

It's not really that far now.
I'm almost there.
I must go before the dark man comes.
Then it will be oh, so good.
So very good.

There's a man at the end.
He says he's been waiting for me.
He says he has been watching me.
He says he has been helping me.
He brings me to a house.
I am scared.
Very scared.

It is raining again but the sun will come out soon.
I can see a window.
I can look into it.
I can see a man inside - he is hiding from me.
He can see me.
He can.

There is a man at his door.
I can tell him who the man is.
I can tell him what the dark man wants.
I can show him a magic-door.
He is not scared.
He is not.
