History:
The Steele Family Reunion is always held the
first Saturday in August in honor of Grandpa
Isaac Alexander Steele, I's birthday which
was on 23 Aug, 1856.
It is held at Lake Jackson in Florala, Alabama.
Florala is located just over the Florida state
line six miles North of Svea ,Florida. Svea is
the old homestead site where the family of
Isaac, I was raised.
Directions:
From I-10 one would exit for Crestview , Florida
and proceed north on state rd 85 through Crestview
and Laurel Hill all the way past Svea and into Florala. Lake Jackson is on the right.
before you get into the town of Florala.

To get to Florala....from I-10
Get to Defuniak Springs exit...Route 331 and head north.
There is a jog to the left onto Route 90 heading west for
about a mile and then turn right onto Rt. 331 heading north
again. Stay on route 331 north for approx 20 miles and you
will end up at a flashing stop light in Florala where you
will turn left onto 5th Avenue.
The B&B is about a mile down on your left. You can go around
to the back for parking.

You can turn south on 4th street and their house is on the
corner at 4th Avenue.
The reunion meeting itself is held on Saturday, August 5, 2000
beginning at noon at the old clubhouse on Lake Jackson.
Setup is at 10 am.
